16 And Jesus, when he was baptized,
went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were
opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
Matthew 3:16-17
---
1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them
up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before
them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the
light.
4 Then answered Peter, and said unto
Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three
tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed
them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son,
in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7 And Jesus came and touched them, and
said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8 And when they had lifted up their
eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.

9 And it came to pass in those days,
that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened,
and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well
pleased.
Mark 1:9-11

1 And he said unto them, Verily I say
unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of
death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
2 ¶ And after six days Jesus
taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, band leadeth them up
into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining,
exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4 And there appeared unto them Elias
with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus,
Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one
for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6 For he wist not what to say; for they
were sore afraid.
7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed
them: and a voice came
out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved
Son: hear him.
8 And suddenly, when they had looked
round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
9 And as they came down from the
mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man
were risen from the dead.

21 Now when all the people were
baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
22 And the Holy
Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon
him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee
I am well pleased.
Luke 3:21-22

27 Now is my soul troubled; and what
shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto
this hour.
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came
there a voice from
heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 The people therefore, that stood by,
and heard it, said that it thundered:
others said, An angel spake to him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice
came not because of me, but for your sakes.

17 For he received from God the Father
honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory,
This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as
the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers
harping with their harps:
Revelation 14:1-2

10 And he said unto the children of men: Follow thou me. Wherefore, my beloved brethren,
can we follow Jesus save we shall be willing to keep the
commandments of the Father?
11 And the Father said:
Repent ye, repent ye, and be baptized in the name of my Beloved Son.
12 And also, the voice of the Son came
unto me, saying: He that is baptized in my name, to him will the Father give the Holy Ghost, like unto me; wherefore, follow me, and do the things which ye have seen me
do.
13 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I
know that if ye shall follow the Son, with full purpose of heart, acting
no hypocrisy and no deception before God, but with
real intent, repenting of your sins, witnessing unto the Father that ye are willing to take upon you the name of Christ, by baptism—yea, by following your Lord and your Savior
down into the water, according to his word, behold, then shall ye receive the
Holy Ghost; yea, then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost; and then
can ye speak with the tongue of angels, and shout praises unto the Holy
One of Israel.
14 But, behold, my beloved brethren,
thus came the voice of the Son unto me, saying: After ye have repented of your
sins, and witnessed unto the Father that ye are
willing to keep my commandments, by the baptism of water, and have received the
baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, and can speak with a new tongue, yea,
even with the tongue of angels, and after this should deny me, it would have been better for you that ye had not known me.
15 And I heard a voice from the Father, saying: Yea, the words of my Beloved are true and faithful. He that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.

1 And now it came to
pass that there were a great multitude gathered together,
of the people of Nephi, round about the temple which was in the land Bountiful; and they
were marveling and wondering one with another, and were showing one to another
the great and
marvelous change which had taken place.
2 And they were also
conversing about this Jesus Christ, of whom the sign had been
given concerning his death.
3 And
it came to pass that while they were thus conversing one with another, they
heard a voice as
if it came out of heaven; and they cast their eyes round about, for they
understood not the voice which they heard; and it was not a harsh voice, neither
was it a loud voice; nevertheless, and notwithstanding it being a small voice
it did pierce them
that did hear to the center, insomuch that there was no part of their frame
that it did not cause to quake; yea, it did pierce them to the very soul, and
did cause their hearts to burn.
4 And it came to pass
that again they heard the voice, and they understood it
not.
5 And again the third
time they did hear the voice, and did open their ears
to hear it; and their eyes were towards the sound thereof; and they did look
steadfastly towards heaven, from whence the sound came.
6 And behold, the
third time they did understand the voice which they heard; and it said unto
them:

The
Father teaches Moses face to face as he tells him:
6 And I have a work
for thee, Moses, my son; and thou art in the similitude of mine Only Begotten; and mine Only Begotten is and shall be the Savior, for he is full of grace and truth; but there is no God beside me, and all things are present with
me, for I know them all.

And no man hath seen God at any time, except he hath borne record of the
Son; for except it is through him, no man can be saved.
John 1:19 JST
It seems apparent from the
Joseph Smith Translation, that this controversial verse is clarified with this
understanding, the Father will not be seen unless he bears record of the
Son. Is it then also a corollary that when they are seen together,
that one always witnesses of the other and that the Son is not seen unless the Father
testifies of Him?
